"To the Amazing Team at Metro Paws Animal Hospital – Oak Cliff, On behalf of our entire family, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the beautiful card, thoughtful messages, paw prints, nose print, and the Rainbow Bridge poem you sent in memory of our beloved Lola. When we opened your letter, it brought tears to our eyes. In one of the most difficult moments our family has faced, your kindness, compassion, and heartfelt words reminded us that Lola was cared for not only as a patient, but as a member of a family. Every handwritten note, every prayer, every message of sympathy, and every person who took the time to sign the card meant more to us than words can truly express. Lola was deeply loved and brought so much joy, loyalty, comfort, and happiness into our lives. The paw prints and nose print are treasures that we will cherish forever. They are a beautiful reminder that although she is no longer physically with us, her love and spirit will always remain in our hearts. Please extend our sincere thanks to every doctor, technician, assistant, and staff member who cared for Lola and who took a moment out of their day to write a message for our family. Your compassion is a reflection of the incredible people you are and the special work you do every day. We know Lola would have been wagging her tail and giving each of you kisses for the love and care you showed her throughout her time in need. We are thankful, and we believe she would be thankful too. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for treating Lola with dignity, kindness, and love, and for helping our family through this difficult time. Your support brought comfort when we needed it most, and we will never forget it. With heartfelt appreciation and gratitude, Villegas Family & in loving memory of Lola 🐾❤️ “Some companions leave paw prints on the floor, but the very best leave paw prints on our hearts forever.”"

"I cannot express enough gratitude to the team at MetroPaws Oak Cliff. We recently had to say goodbye to our 15-year-old rescue, Grumbles, and the grace, empathy, and professionalism we experienced here were unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Our journey started late on a Friday evening. Grumbles was bloated and uncomfortable; we arrived at 7:30 PM, just 30 minutes before closing. Instead of rushing us out, Dr. Lavender and the vet techs met us with total kindness. They prioritized his well-being over a ticking clock, providing an honest assessment and guidance for overnight care without even asking for payment (and not even knowing if we would return to them or another clinic!). When my husband brought him back Saturday, Dr. Hanks spent hours with him. They discovered significant fluid (ascites) and were incredibly honest about the limitations of the testing. Most importantly, they truly listened when we explained that we prioritized his comfort over longevity taking his age into consideration. Grumbles was a survivor the world had largely given up on. Long before he found us, he had been failed by previous owners and labeled by Dallas Animal Services. When we found him abandoned at a Greenville Avenue gas station, he was already a senior of 8 or 10 years. He had spent two days evading everyone trying to catch him, but for some reason, he felt an instant connection with my husband and jumped right into his car the moment the door opened. When we took him to DAS to scan for a chip, we were met with a heartbreaking reality: because of a bite history from when he was just a puppy, nearly a decade earlier, the shelter told us he would have to be euthanized if we left him there. When we finally tracked down his previous owners, they simply admitted they didn't want him anymore. We refused to let his story end that way. We brought him home just one week before the historic Texas freeze; he never would have survived that winter, or that system, if we hadn't stepped in. MetroPaws honored that history. They didn't see a "bite-history dog" or a discarded senior; they saw the gentle guardian we loved. They treated him with the dignity he deserved after a lifetime of overcoming the odds, ensuring a dog who started with nothing ended his life feeling like the most important boy in the world. What truly sets this clinic apart is their humanity. We are currently facing financial duress between paychecks, yet the staff never once made us feel "less than." They worked with us so Grumbles could get immediate care. When we returned on Monday for end-of-life care, Dr. Hanks was incredibly patient with my grief-ridden self, performing one last check-up to reassure me we were doing the right thing. They even offered to waive the euthanasia fee and helped us arrange his final care knowing we had to wait until payday for payment. To see a vet tech get teary-eyed with us, and to hear Dr. Hanks whisper to Grumbles to "sleep sweetly" and that he was a "good boy" as he passed... it was a moment of pure, raw compassion. These folks weren't just doing a job; they were escorting a sweet soul to his rest. My history with MetroPaws goes back years. As a teacher for students with significant cognitive disabilities in Oak Cliff, I once reached out for a vocational speaker. They connected me with their White Rock location, where a vet and tech did a Zoom call with my class while in surgery. It was an unforgettable experience for my students. Our primary vet of many years recently retired, and finding a new "home" has been difficult. Even though MetroPaws knew they weren't our primary clinic, they never pressured us or made us feel like a transaction. They simply stepped up when we needed them most. Dr. Lavender, Dr. Hanks, and their incredible vet techs have earned our loyalty for life. Thank you for making the hardest day of our lives a little more bearable. The world needs more community members like y'all."

"Excellent location. I came here based off other recommendations and was not disappointed. They took excellent care of my sweet fur babies. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have any issues booking an appointment and the reception area is big enough if you have your animal(s) there is room for space. Make sure you have your animals in a carrier or on a leash as they won’t allow them inside if not. The vet techs were kind and had no issue explaining the medications my animals had to be on and they were very gentle with handling, especially on the scale. They will take the time with you and assist with any questions you may have. I will add that I found them costly, but maybe that was due to the entirety of the check up and medications."
